Chennai style Chicken Biryani in pressure cooker! Easiest Chicken Biryani recipe.

Today I am here to share my mom's secret and my most favourite recipe of all time . . . CHICKEN BIRYANI !
Biryani is an all time favourite of all and it gains a special place when it is cooked by Muslims. My friends are  great fans of this recipe! Biryani — according to me, has a lot of beautiful memories attached to it. How many ever Biryani I taste, I love my mom's Biryani! She says this is the easiest recipe she has ever tried and it is her " go - to " recipe.

                 CHICKEN   BIRYANI
Ingredients:
. Basmati rice - 1 kg
. Chicken - 1 kg
. Ginger - 80 g
. Garlic - 100 g
Red chilli powder - 2 tbsp
. Turmeric powder - a pinch
. Green chillies - 5 
 Large onions - 500 g
. Tomatoes - 6 
. Mint - few strands
. Coriander leaves - few strands
. Yoghurt - 100 ml
. Cardamom - 8 
. Cinnamon sticks - 8
. Clove - 8 
. Sunflower oil - 200 ml
. Ghee - 50 ml
. Coconut oil - 150 ml
. Salt - according to your taste
. Lemon juice - 1
. Orange-red food colour - ½ pinch 
Note: grind the ginger and garlic to make it a paste.
 Method: 
1. Heat the oils and ghee in a pressure cooker.
2. Add in cardamom, cinnamon and clove and roast it in medium-flame.
3. Put chopped onions in the cooker.
4. Add yoghurt, chopped chillies, ginger - garlic paste, mint and coriander leaves.
5. Roast it until the onions turn golden brown.
6. Add in red chilli powder, turmeric powder and salt.
7. Mix it well.
8. Now add the chopped tomatoes and Chicken pieces.
9. Wash rice and soak it for about 20 minutes.
10. Drain the water completely.
11. Take equivalent amount of water as rice in the same pressure cooker and let the water evaporate almost ¾ of the amount.
12. Add lemon juice, colour and some extra ghee .
13. Close the cooker with lid and put on the weight.
14. Keep in slow flame for about 10 minutes.
15. Switch off the stove and wait for about 10 minutes.
